if you are a beginner in the world of blogging you need to know that in the first place this blogger template provides two types of templates that blogspot, blogger template xml and blogger template CLAssIC.
so when you want to change the layout or template that you have you must know first whether you are using a new or CLAssIC so later you can not download the template in the wrong. if you use the new blogger then you should download the xml template is not a classic template because the error will occur later in the turn of the template, and if you still do not understand how to change the template of the classic or the xml you can see in my posting this How to install XML template and How To Install classic template
